Education design is a lifelong learning journey. To support designers for youth and teachers in East Africa, Educate! has developed the blended Design Academy. Based on close to ten years of experience and contemporary learning theory, the Design Academy will help you:
Educate!'s vision is to transform education in Africa to teach youth to solve poverty for themselves and their communities. Educate!’s solution is a relevant, skills-based model of education that leads to improved livelihoods for youth through formal employment or business ownership, increased business and job creation, improved community participation, and improved 21st century and business/employability skills. We aim to create impact across all levels of education systems by implementing our model directly in schools, advising governments on national education policy and curriculum reform, and building capacity among teachers to implement government reforms.
And it works! Educate! has been working in East Africa for over ten years directly impacting over 68,000 young people who have carried on the positive change through leadership and entrepreneurship. Educate! graduates for example are 123% more likely to launch a community project than other youth.
