The Educate! way

Beyond experience based education

What sets Educate! apart? Ofcourse our experience based pedagogy is a unique approach that makes us different from other education organisations. However, through almost 10 years of experience we have also developed a unique approach to entrepreneurship education. Learn all about the Educate! way of developing leadership & entrepreneurship.

What is entrepreneurship?

Let's start at the very beginning. How does Educate! define entrepreneurship? Some people look at entrepreneurship narrowly, simply looking at the process of starting a business.

In Educate! however we lean towards a wider definition of entrepreneurship where we consider the qualities of a person to creatively and sustainably solve problems in our society.

Educate! further focuses on social entrepreneurship. We consider the triple bottom line (people, planet, profit), not just profit when assessing the success of an entrepreneur!

What is leadership?

There are many definitions of leadership. Some look at formal leadership positions, other schools of thought look at leadership in a wider sense (e.g. distributed leadership, adaptive leadership, transformative leadership). Of all definitions, Educate! focuses on cooperative leadership:

A cooperative leader is someone who is able to inspire and mobilize others to accomplish a common goal.

This definition is closely connected to that of entrepreneurship if the goal is to solve community problems through creative and sustainable action.

Across the world, organizations have developed education models to teach young people how to be entrepreneurs. In this figure you see an overview of what types of education programs exist. See for more research on entrepreneurship programs this report of the OECD.
